Together with school principals, Dietzel Hydraulik develops new ideas and concepts for vocational orientation. At the events, information days and regional training fairs, the young people get to know various professions, such as plant mechanic and machining mechanic, at first hand. The eye-to-eye contact with trainees makes it easier to ask specific questions. Trainers are regularly involved in the workshops, imparting knowledge about metalworking and carrying out practical projects with the students. In the metal and electrical workshop (IHK Schüler-College), basic manual skills are practiced in small groups under supervision and projects are implemented - such as an electric forklift or a snow groomer including a mini-driver's license. The jury of the SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT award acknowledges the commitment: "Together with the school management, Dietzel Hydraulik develops new ideas and concepts for professional orientation. At the events, information days and regional training fairs, the young people get to know various professions, such as plant mechanic and machining mechanic, at first hand. Contact with apprentices at eye level makes it easier to ask specific questions."
Since 2012, the SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT network has been honoring exemplary commitment to vocational orientation and the transition from school to the world of work with a competition sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. In the "Teaching and learning media for economic education" category, awards are presented for teaching materials that awaken understanding and enthusiasm for economic issues. The category "SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT companies" honors companies that are committed to young people's career prospects. A special prize, the so-called "SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT-Starter" prize, is awarded to companies that are committed to providing vocational guidance but are not (yet) active in the network. In the "SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT - Digitale Bildung" (School Business - Digital Education) category, awards are given to cooperative ventures between schools and companies that promote the digital education of young people in a practical way. A jury made up of representatives from the Federal Ministry, universities, schools and business selected the winners. For more information, visit www.schulewirtschaft.de/preis
